Volunteer Opportunity: Blessing Box Donation Coordinator

Do you have a heart for hospitality, organization, and caring for our neighbors in practical ways? We are looking for a Blessing Box Donation Coordinator—a volunteer role that helps ensure our neighbors have consistent access to essential items through the WHCC Blessing Box. This role is vital to supporting our neighborhood with dignity and compassion. If you enjoy organizing, connecting with others, or helping behind the scenes, this is an impactful way to participate.

Key Responsibilities

Donation Organizer: Sort and organize donations inside the WHCC building to keep our inventory accessible and ready for use.

Donation Re-Stock: Restock the Blessing Box weekly—either on Sundays after service or at another time that works for you—using current donation supplies.

Community Connector: Communicate current needs and coordinate quarterly donation tote drop-off and pickup with FaithLife Church. Along with exploring creative ways for local organizations, groups, and community partners to support the Blessing Box ministry (e.g., preparing hygiene kits, hosting donation drives, etc.).

Volunteer Opportunity: Communion Coordinator

At Wellington Heights Community Church, communion is a shared, embodied practice that invites us to remember Christ and turn toward God and one another. The Communion Coordinator helps steward this sacred moment by ensuring communion is thoughtfully prepared and smoothly coordinated each month,

Key Responsibilities

Preparation & Supplies

Prepare communion elements for monthly services (bread and grape juice) in alignment with WHCC’s communion practices. Ensure all communion supplies are available, clean, and ready for use, including linens, chalices, platters, and table coverings. Set the communion table prior to worship

Volunteer Coordination

Identify, invite, and schedule volunteers to assist with serving communion (such as bread servers and chalice holders). Communicate clearly with volunteers ahead of time regarding arrival time and the flow of serving communion. Confirm volunteer availability prior to each communion Sunday and help arrange coverage if someone is unavailable.

After-Service Care

Ensure communion items remain on the table until the postlude has concluded and are then cleared with care. Check that linens are clean and properly stored; arrange for laundering when needed. Clean, dry, and store chalices and serving ware so they are ready for future use.

This role is well-suited for someone who values attentiveness, collaboration, and the spiritual significance of shared practices within the WHCC community.  Interested? Email stephanie@wellingtonheightscommunitychurch.org
